About the Artist

Born and raised in Newark, Delaware as the son of a militant father and the oldest of four siblings, Brandon Peterson was destined to find an outlet to express himself.  Looking up to his older cousin Andre a.k.a D.R.E – Da Realest Emcee, he was introduced to the rap game at 16 years old. It was at this age that he co-wrote and recorded his first verse for his feature appearance on D.R.E’s track “Who Gets Ya Love?”  Influenced by his cousin’s conscious lyrics and motto of keeping it real, he was driven to hold similar values. Therefore using the initials of his name, they came up with a resourceful rendition of the word bonafide for his stage name.  Continuing to work with his cousin, Bona-Phide made several appearances on D.R.E’s follow up album “Hip-Hopcrisy.” Not too long after, he released his 1st solo project entitled “Spitability,” which is the 1st release under the “FuckABuzz” Series.  He is currently working on Vol. 2 and in the midst of starting his own label called “Black Label Entertainment” which will showcase the talents of other Delaware natives such as De De, Young Pud and Brad-Ley.  Proclaiming to be the “1st out the 1st”, meaning the 1st successful artist out the 1st state, BP is determined to put Delaware on the map.
