About the Artist Raised in one of United States’ most dangerous cities in a house with seven siblings, Tasha intuitively used music as an outlet to avoid the harsh streets of Camden, NJ. As a baby, she learned how to memorize and sing songs even before she could talk and at the tender age of 6 she began to write her own lyrics and songs. During her teenage years, Tasha performed in several musicals throughout her community. She then realized that music had become her remedy to all her troubles and sorrow. She began to use her songs to tell about experiences and life stories. In 2003, she was introduced to a couple of guys that had access to studios. One of them, being Andre J. Bauldock (CEO of Da Real Entertainment), initiated her first studio recorded track with the hit single “Stand UP.” In August of 2005, Tasha auditioned for American Idol. Although she was not selected to advance to the final stages, she used her elimination as motivation to work harder at achieving her dreams of becoming a flourishing R&B singer/writer. “I want to give people the hope for better days because there are times when I’m lost and music is my only liberator.” Currently, Tasha is working on putting together her own solo album, as well as, featuring on several other upcoming artists tracks.
