About the Artist

Raised by his mother and two older brothers in Plainfield, NJ, poverty and humbleness led D’Juan’s heart to hip-hop. Since age nine, you could catch the young emcee battling in school hallways or on street corners in his neighborhood.  Formerly “GameOva” of the group “Internal Affairs”, Ocean gained experience working with other artists while bringing his own strong, lyrical versatility and punch lines to the group.  Yearning to become a solo artist and be heard as an individual, he signed with Da Real Entertainment in 2004.  “Andre Bauldock, [the CEO of Da Real Ent.], made a good look for me as an artist by giving me lyrical freedom and opening up more doors for me.  He took the time to notice real talent.”  With deep lyrics and a versatile flow, D’Juan became Ocean, the Deep Blue Sea. With constant networking and promotion, he has currently recorded several studio tracks and performed at numerous showcases in the tri-state area, including “The Freedom Theater” on Temple University’s Campus, “Unity Day” in Philadelphia, and “The Wachovia Center” for the opening of the 2005 and 2006 “And 1 Mix Tape Tour.”  In addition, he has performed in showcases hosted by DJ Kay Slay and opened up for recognized artists, such as Papoose and Styles P.  Along with label mate, D.R.E, Ocean was awarded a trophy for best hip-hop song “Stand UP” at the Willingboro Idol Showcase 2005.  Now his fans are impatiently anticipating his solo release for the year 2008.
